Principal's Message

Dear Students, Staff, and Parents,

Our commitment at Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary Charter School is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers, and inspired learners prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century.

High standards and expectations for each student in regard to academic performance and responsible citizenship are the foundation of our school. Along with academic programs, Bethune provides students with opportunities for leadership growth and social development through co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Full participation in academic and co-curricular programs and a willingness to act responsibly as an individual within our educational environment are the factors that enable all to have a successful and enjoyable year.

As we move forward, we will continue to SOAR with the highest degree of excellence in education servicing the students and community throughout the Greater New Orleans area. We will continue to work as a team of students, teachers, parents, and community to encourage our students to believe in themselves, work hard, and gain the necessary skill sets to become whatever they aspire to be and to do whatever they desire to do in life. Here at Bethune, our motto is, “Basic isn’t good enough, MASTERY must be pursued”.
